A little Christmas family time

Liz hoped Pinkie would understand that didn't really feel like going to the party. She usually felt homesick on the holidays anyway, but after a year and a half the Satellite was feeling smaller and emptier than ever, and she ended up instead just curling up by the window in her room, nestled in her pajamas still, staring down at the blue planet below.
The clouds swirled by below, obscuring a good chunk of the green earth from sight. But if she had a guess, it looked like Minnesota was getting a white Christmas. Then again they were probably already having a white Tuesday. The radio perched on her windowsill crooned away with Bing Crosby's I'll Be Home for Christmas, static clearing up just a little, and she turned it up ever so slightly, resting her forehead on the glass and closing her eyes.
