The STAGE PLAY Meme

Your character is in a play! You can be as specific or not as you like on what show and who they play, but this meme is all about the shenanigans of the stage. Post with your character below and any preferences you have, and reply to others. You know the drill!


Scenario

1. Auditions - You're surrounded by dozens of others all doing the same thing you're doing - limbering up, memorizing monologues, practicing numbers, and trying not to be sick as you wait for your name to be called. OR, you got called back and you're going through it all over again with the fellow candidates who have the best chances. God I hope I get it!

2. Cast List - The decisions have been made, and it's time to shove through everyone else and see who made the final call! Is your name on there? Yes? AWESOME! Your hard work paid off! Sign your name on that sheet and go dancing down the hall! Or...go cry in the corner because you didn't make it.

3. Rehearsal - Get your dance shoes, script, and tape recorder ready, because it's time to practice! It's not gonna be perfect the first time, of course; you're gonna break your voice, drop the props, trip over your partner, the works. But hey, a bad rehearsal means a good show, right?

4. Take Five! - It's the rare occasion when you get a break. Go grab a snack or a drink (probably non-alcoholic?), play around on your phone, chat it up with your castmates!

5. Thank You, Five! - You're not actually in the cast, you're on the crew! You get to see all the magic behind the scenes...and all the chaos that comes with it. Whether you're arguing with the director about whether the sound cue is right, yelling at the actors to be quiet backstage, rigging lights or building the stage, there's always something that has to be done.

6. Costume Fitting - It's always a fun time when a stranger has to stretch measuring tape around your butt. Time to take measurements and see how your show's clothes fit on you. Just don't try to argue about whether you think your character would dress like this. It never ends well. Oh, and no food. Seriously.

7. Tech Week - Ever wondered why it's also called Hell Week? It's time for all the elements of the show to come together for the first time! Get ready for lots of starts and stops as they fix cues, adjust costumes, go over bits over and over and oh my god it's dinner time and we're not even halfway through act one?!?!

8. Showtime - For those who want to just RP a play starring your characters. The curtain's open, the house is full and the butterflies in your stomach are going crazy. Let the show begin!

9. Wrap Party - The show's over. It's time to strike the set, and from there there's no telling if you'll see all these people again...and you're certainly never seeing this show exactly this way again. So what do you do? One last celebration with everybody! Go to a diner, get drinks, party in somebody's basement, just spend one last night high on your successful performance!

10. Hold! - Wild card; make something up or combine some prompts!
