Talisman Meme

Ancient legend speaks of twelve talismans, one for each animal of the Chinese zodiac. Each possessing a different magic.

The twelve talismans of Jackie Chan Adventures fame apparently exist in the RP world now, and you've found yourself in possession of one, or maybe even more than one! All the power of the zodiac is in the palm of your hand, so what do you do now? Do you use it for selfish gain? Do you become a superhero? Do you try to find the other eleven or swap with friends? It's a free for all straight out of the show, let's have fun!

And remember, magic must defeat magic!


Rabbit - Rabbits are well known for their incredible speeds. As long as you hold this talisman, you are capable of running faster than any living animal. Take care on turns and watch out for that wall!

Tiger - Just as a tiger's coat has a light side and a dark side, so does man. The tiger talisman represents spiritual balance; light and dark, good and evil. If it splits, the one holding it splits as well and the two extremes of their personality become individual beings.

Ox - The powerful ox gives you his strength. The wielder of this talisman is capable of superhuman feats of strength with little to no effort.

Rat - This creepy little rodent gives motion to the motionless. Put this talisman into a toy and it will come to life, retaining the personality of whatever it represents, if it represents a known icon like an action figure.

Pig - If you wield this talisman, you can shoot red-hot lasers from your eyes. Just like pigs do! Yeah! ....no seriously, what the hell, JCA?

Dog - Ah, to be young again. The dog talisman gives the one holding it a healthy dose of youthful energy, and better yet, immortality! You'll have nothing to fear from old aching bones or dangerous stunts again, but remember - immortality is not the same as invulnerability; what doesn't kill you is still gonna really hurt!

Rooster - And who says chickens can't fly? The rooster talisman grants the power of levitation; you are now capable of flying with the power of thought, and you can cause objects around you to float in mid-air.

Monkey - Monkeys are notorious tricksters and love to mimic everything they see. If you point the monkey talisman at a person or object and call out the name of any animal you can think of, they will turn into that very animal! Useful and hilarious for all occasions, but just remember that the safeword is 'change him back'.

Sheep - A long-beloved symbol of sleep, the sheep has the power of astral projection. If you hold this talisman, your soul will be separated from your body! Nobody will be able to see or hear you (unless you take a peek into their dreams) and anybody who finds your body will just think you're sound asleep.

Horse - This talisman purges your body of the alien within. No, this isn't a Ridley Scott movie - any illness, curse, or other such condition is healed magically, leaving you healthy as a horse!

Snake - The sly snake slinks through the grass unseen. This talisman grants the power of complete invisibility, including your clothes.

Dragon - Time to turn up the heat with the most dangerous of all the talismans! The dragon shoots a powerful burst of fire wherever you point it, and could even potentially burn you, fixing itself onto your hand.
