Admit it...You heard this.

MOVIE GENRE AU MEME

For the desire to AU your characters into a certain iconic genre of film you never knew you had. Place your characters, roll the dice, you know the drill; your character is now in an entirely new setting having grand cinematic adventures!

1. Action - Life is never dull for you character and their friends. Whether it's the swashbuckling adventures of pirates, the eternal treasure hunt of Indiana Jones, or the high speed car chases and bone-rattling explosions of Die Hard, you're in for a wild ride of non-stop heart-pounding action!

2. Romantic Comedy - Your character wants to get in touch with their sensitive, quirky side. Unlikely circumstances and even more unlikely people create a love story that's so precious you won't believe it. And sometimes nobody'll believe it either.

3. Disaster - A big catastrophe is coming, or has already come. Be it a giant monster attack, a tornado, an earthquake, or even an extinction-level meteorite, the end is near for the world or a few cities. Is your character fighting to prevent it, or just trying to get a few final moments with their loved ones?

4. Silent Film - No sound exists in your character's world except the lilting tunes of the player piano. Thus, they must emote using big over-the-top gestures and the occasional dialogue plate. Slapstick and hammy action are a big part of their everyday life.

5. Musical - On the opposite end of the spectrum, there is nothing but sound and music in your character's world, and when they feel something they've just gotta let it out in song and dance.

6. Horror - Whether it's a spooky mansion, a masked killer, or a supernatural beast, your character is at great risk of being scared to death. Go as cheesy or as terrifying as you like, something spooky and scary is about to go down.

7. Found Footage - Similar to horror, but this time your character gets to do it live. They or one of their friends is filming everything on a camera, and it could be the last time they're ever seen alive. Just try not to shake too much so maybe future viewers can see just what happened.

8. Western - Put on your bucket hat and spurs and saddle up, cowboy, because it's time for some frontier justice. Your character lives in the romanticized desert of the old American west, where it's hot and dry and the town is just never big enough for two gunslingers. Tumbleweeds, shoot-outs, cow-rustling and damsels tied to railroad tracks are daily routine here.

9. Film Noir - Your character is a self-narrating private detective that people turn to when nobody else can help them. The dames are always trouble, they're always trying to find solutions at the bottom of a bottle or the butt of a cigarette, and similes fall like the city's night rain.

10. Animated - Your character is literally a cartoon! Probably a magical princess or talking animal from the likes of Disney (or some poor soul always mistaken for Disney) having grand adventures of friendship, comedy and magical plot convenience.

11. Fantasy - Sometimes you just wanna say 'screw it' and throw a little whimsy into your life. Your character has stumbled upon a magical land and must fight great evils to escape and save their world and this one. Fantastic creatures, magic and possibly being the chosen one abound.

12. Indie - Pick your own or come up with something not on the list!
